The Oparara Wilderness Trail Run in Kahurangi National Park: Saturday 18 April 2020. Entries open 1 October 2019. New in 2020, by popular request: a 20 km walk option!
The Oparara Wilderness Trail Run will take you through the ancient, untouched rain forest of the Oparara Valley in Kahurangi National Park at the top of the South Island’s West Coast.
Vicki Woolley, editor of KiwiTrailRunner magazine describes this unique place simply as “Trail Heaven”.
This race will take your breath away in more ways than one and is an absolute “must do” in this secret part of New Zealand. Stay in Karamea and enjoy the wonderful laid back lifestyle, the beaches, walks and rivers.
The 36km and 20km events take competitors through the pristine untouched rain forests of the Oparara and Fenian Valleys and across farmland to the finish line at the Karamea Domain.
At the finish line there will be a festival atmosphere of live music, food and beverage stalls and entertainment for the children.
Start getting together now with your running or walking gang. Early Bird entries for the 4th Pulse Energy Oparara Wilderness Trail Run open 7am Tuesday 1 October 2019; entries are capped at 150 runners for the 20 km run, and a maximum of 40 walkers.
Early Bird special pricing of $115.00 will apply until midnight Tuesday 12 November.
Regular $125.00 – until midnight Friday 3 April 2020.
Entries received after midnight Friday 3 April 2020 will incur a $25.00 late entry fee.
No entries will be accepted after 7am Wednesday 15 April 2020.
No entries on the day will be accepted.
Entries are strictly limited, with a cap of 150 runners for the 20 km run, and 50 walkers for the 20 km walk. WE RECOMMEND EARLY ENTRY!
