The Charleston Gloworm Cave Tour takes visitors by train into the magnificent rain forest of the Nile River Canyon to explore the enormous Nile River Cave System.

In the cave visitors will experience an ancient wonderland of stalactites and stalagmites and galaxies of GlowWorms all in their natural unspoilt state the way the cavers first discovered them.
Underworld Rafting and The GlowWorm Cave Tours are adventures in one of New Zealand's largest natural wilderness cave systems amidst spectacular Stalactite and Stalagmite creations and galaxies of GlowWorms that are unequaled on our planet.
Te Tahi Adventure Caving is a full-on exploration style activity in a superb sporty active water cave complete with abseils, climbs, crawls and squeezes.
Tour information
- Trips takes 3.5 hours return from our Charleston Base.
- You must be able to walk unassisted for up to two hours on uneven surfaces.
- Warm clothing and robust footwear is recommended.
- Cameras are allowed.
Directions
Underworld Adventures operate from The Charleston Hotel that is situated alongside State Highway 6 in the small township of Charleston 15minutes drive time south of Westport or 30minutes drive time north of Punakaiki.
